My first Royal Flush
Things are ticking over for me i am concentrating on Pokerstars and almost solely on the Sit-n-Go MTT's usually the 18 ply and 27 ply $5 tourneys.
I have been doing as i promised and sticking to one tourney at a time and i make steady progress but i still have flaws outside my play. I am still to distracted. I read, I surf the internet and i lose because of it. I am getting better though because i can concentrate and when i do i make good player notes and i usually cash unless i'm outdrawn by a 10-1 shot on the river.
My biggest problem is that i play tired. So tired in fact that i will fall asleep mid game. This has cost me a lot and hampered my progress. I tend to still compound this by not taking breaks and chasing what i lose in this situation. I must sort this out and i WILL begin to make progress i know it!
On a more positive note i hit my first Royal Flush today....in spades as well. A hand summary is below. In my excitement i forgot to take a skreen shot. I might have been able to extract a little more on the river with a re raise but i was ken for the hand to be showndown and the tbl to see it. Silly i know but hey.
I think i have made a good sized turn bet, just under half the pot and made it look exactly like i have some kind of draw. I don't think he can think its as powerful a draw as it is though. I made a pause of slightly longer than usual on the river. Not much, but enough for it to be noticable. He has checked to me and i'm either hoping he interprets my bet as weakness and re raises or that he cannot resist the value with whatever hand he has. top pr or a flush are my guesses here.
Happily he thinks my bet is weak and has a sttr8 and hopes to get a re raise called out of me.
Perhaps i could have taken all his chips but i was reasonably happy with the way i played the hand. See for youself and let me know what you think.
I went on to win the tournament but not without a great deal of luck and some big swings in my stack. It became a crapshoot down to the last 4 with the blinds so high.
