Killer Poker!

I struggled with the STT's just like i had before, but i was a better player i knew it.

I moved onto another book. Killer Poker online by John Vorhaus

A lot of people have given this book a real slating for being simplistic and giving no strategy tips at all and that is true in one sense of the word. But it appears to be just what i need at the minute. It is full of guidance on how to play in the sense of being prepared and on top of your game to play and it has helped me.
It has forced home things i already knew but thought i never really had to do. Vorhaus thinks that it is very difficult to make a consistent profit at the STT tables and i have been finding it difficult. I realise that i have been making things harder than they need to be in my efforts. When last on Pokerstars i was playing $1 tables trying to build up a $50 bankroll and being very disciplined with making sure i played at the correct level for my bankroll. I am now playing $5 STT's with a $70 bankroll and things are no different.
I have begun to get some preparation time in before actually playing.
  1. I am committed to making sure i don't double dip and only focus on one game at a time.
  2. I am determined to take notes on players to keep focused.
  3. I am going to play MTT's which is where i believe my strength is and where i think it should be easier to make money than in STT's. True STT's pay out 1 in 3 and MTT's pay out between 1 in 6 and 1 in 10 but this means you can cash less frequently in an MTT and make more profit. In STT's you have to cash regularly to make a profit and the draws and bad beats you suffer make this a harder prospect in my opinion.
  4. I will not play tired or drunk because i will waste money
  5. I will value every dollar and never give up a game for dead
I reckon you have to win one STT in every three you play to make profit. That's a tough ask and where i believe i went wrong last time.
So lets see how i do. I have a bank roll of $35 on PokerStars
